Westfield - State Road 32 is slated for an overhaul, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced Monday. Money for the project comes from Major Moves. The project involves overhauling 1.7 miles of State Road 32 between U.S. 31 and Spring Mill Road. Rieth Riley Construction of Goshen submitted the lowest bid among six Indiana contractors, and will perform the work for $10 million. INDOT says traffic on the two-lane section of S.R. 32 has grown over 50 percent in the past ten years and is projected to jump another 66 percent within 20 years. INDOT plans to rebuild and widen the road to two lanes in each direction, separated by center turn lanes or medians. http://www.wthr.com/Global/story.asp?S=8163165&nav=9Tai

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Republican Sen. John McCain on Tuesday called for a summer-long suspension of the federal gasoline tax and several tax cuts as the likely presidential nominee sought to stem the public's pain from a troubled economy. Timed for the day millions of Americans filed their tax returns, McCain offered some immediate steps as well as long-term proposals in a broad economic speech. The nation's financial woes have replaced the Iraq war as the top concern for voters, and McCain, who has said economics is not his strongest suit, felt compelled to address the problems as he looks ahead to the November general election. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D902EAP01&show_article=1
