FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) --- The project to make the Hillegas Road bridge structurally sound still has no set end date. INDOT's I-69 expansion project aims to expand the highway from two to three lanes. The project is expected to be complete by November. As far as city construction projects are concerned, the expansion and restoration of St. Joseph Center Road is set to be complete in 2010, but is a running a bit behind schedule.

Brownsburg - Drivers can start making their way along new pavement in Hendricks County. The Ronald Reagan Parkway is now open in Brownsburg with the exception of the north east ramp, which opened later in the day. This Ronald Reagan connection about 3 miles east of State Road 267 is a critical piece of a north south thoroughfare that will eventually connect interstates 70, and 74 and possibly further north to I-65. The new interchange is a quick way around Brownsburg, and in and out of Hendricks County. Supporters say the growing suburbs will benefit by alleviating traffic congestion and speeding up travel. http://www.wthr.com/Global/story.asp?S=8675532&nav=9Tai

Chesterton Tribune

Next week in the Town of Chesterton is beginning to look like a construction witching hour. As early as Monday or Tuesday Walsh & Kelly Inc. could begin milling Broadway between Eighth Street and 19th Street in preparation for re-surfacing. At the same time a Walsh & Kelly crew could also be asphalting Porter Ave. between Fifth Street and Eighth Street-but only if R.V. Sutton Inc. has completed the emergency replacement of the corroded sanitary force main running from the Dickinson Road lift station. If R.V. Sutton has completed that project, it will turn next to Phase I of the South Calumet Business District project. Meanwhile, Walsh and Kelly will try to duck in, when time allows, to put a new surface on the crumbling portion of Eighth Street between Broadway and West Morgan Ave. http://www.chestertontribune.com/Town%20of%20Chesterton/7158%20street_and_sewer_projects_multip.htm

HEBRON COUNCIL OKS $1 MILLION BOND FOR STREET WORK
Post-Tribune
James Wolf Jr.
7/16/08

HEBRON -- Town officials plan to borrow $1 million through bonds to get street work done in the face of rising asphalt and construction prices. The Town Council formally agreed Tuesday after hearing the price increases and an almost tripling of costs for the Monroe Street lift station, which will help move sewage from River's Edge subdivision on the west side of town. The bond is expected to be done within 60 days, although road work will begin as soon as possible, Council President Don Ensign said. The council originally planned to do as many of the streets on its list of 24 as economically feasible. However, the cost of asphalt, which is petroleum-based, rose $3 a ton June 1 and $8 a ton July 1, Ensign said. An August increase is expected, he added. Out of the bond, $566,000 will go toward street work, which was the work bid of Town and Country of DeMotte. http://www.post-trib.com/news/1058073,hcouncil.article
